Non-Discrimination Policy

USA does not discriminate against students of any gender, race, and colour, and religion, national or ethnic origin or physical disability in the administration of its education policies, admission policies, scholarship programs, or other school-administered programs and activities. Exception to the above is considered only when the course of choice has specific requirements which is beyond our control.

School Photography Policy

USA PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY

This policy applies to the use of photographs in school publicity printed materials including yearbook, souvenirs/gifts newsletters and flyers, aesthetics, on digital media including school website, school social media feeds and school YouTube channel, in the press and other purposes. For the purposes of this Policy, the word “photograph” includes any kind of still or moving image with or without sound and whether stored/transmitted electronically or as hard copy.

Schools need and welcome positive publicity. Student’s photographs add color, life and interest to photographs of the school activities and initiatives. Making use of photographs in school publicity materials can increase student`s, alumni and staff morale and help their friends, families and the society identify and celebrate the school’s achievements.

Universal School of Aviation adopts the following guidelines when using photographs of out trainees in school publicity materials, including use of images / names on the school website, newsletters, displays:

GUIDELINES FOR TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS

Staff are permitted to take photographs to support educational aims e.g. for classroom displays or projects.

Photographs should be stored securely and used only by those authorized to do so.

Staff should ensure that image files are appropriately named and will not use students’ names in image file names.

When taking photographs, Staffs should ensure that the students are appropriately dressed and are not participating in activities that might bring the individual or the school into disrepute.

Students must not take, use, share or publish images of others without consent.

GUIDELINES FOR TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS AT SCHOOL EVENTS

It is up to school management to decide if they are to allow videos or photographs to be taken by guests during school events such as Graduation or Matriculation Ceremonies.

Guests are not required to comply with the Data Protection Act when taking photographs of their relatives (Student), for their own private use, at an organized event.

GUIDELINES FOR USING SCHOOL BRANDS (NAME AND LOGO) IN PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN BY STUDENTS AND GUESTS

Students and guests may take photographs with the school branded materials (T-shirt, Books, I.D card, Tie, etc.) either within or outside the school facility. Such photographs must be solely for positive use in the public space. Anyone who involves himself/herself in actions that negates the image of the school (scams, frauds, mislead, insult etc.) with their photographs while showing our name/logo will be liable to face legal actions. The school will use such photograph with our name/logo for branding and promotional purpose.

GUIDELINES FOR PUBLISHING/USING PHOTOGRAPHS

Students may at any time withdraw their consent/ non-consent for the use of their images and digital recordings in school publicity printed materials, on the digital media, in the press, etc. Any such request must be made by sending a mail to universalschoolofaviation@yahoo.com and follow up with a call to +2348055849779.

Except for the yearbook, no other publication will use personal details (including the name) of any student in a photograph in association with the photograph (including in the accompanying text or the photograph caption) without explicit permission from the student.

Where photographs are taken at an event attended by a large crowd e.g. during ceremonies or school activities, this is regarded as a public area, so it is not necessary to get the permission of everyone in a crowd shot before publishing the image on the school website, social media, etc.

CONCERNS

If students have any concerns about inappropriate or intrusive photography at a school event, they should report their concerns to the school admin.

If a student and visitors, wishes to have a photograph removed from the school website, prospectus, branding, social media etc. at any time, they should contact the school by sending a mail to universalschoolofaviation@yahoo.com and follow up with a call to +2348055849779.

When a press image has been captured, the data controller for that image is the media concerned and not the school. Therefore, students and visitors will need to make any objections to that organization and not the school.

PHOTOGRAPH CONSENT

Universal School of Aviation respects the right of students and their visitors to withhold consent from their photographs being used in school publicity materials. Should student not want their photographs (and that of their visitors) used in the way described in this policy, they should send a mail to universalschoolofaviation@yahoo.com and follow up with a call to +2348055849779. Otherwise, it will be understood that the policy has been read and accepted and consent has been given.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site and social media, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

We can use comments provided through our social media and other means for publicity, ensure not to leave one, if you do not want your comments to be used as testimony.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site and social media, you may opt-in to saving your name, phone, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. 

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Images are only used for branding promotional purposes.

Phone numbers and Email shall only be used to send promotional publications to you

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Images and contact details are retained indefinitely, except you write us to drop the image or contacts.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an history with us, or have left comments, provided contact details or realised we have your images, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data and image we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Changes to this privacy policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

We will indicate the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
